- This sources sought is issued solely for informational, planning purposes and market research in accordance with FAR Part 10. This sources sought is seeking interest from Service Disabled Veteran, and Veteran Owned Small Business concerns capable and interested in meeting the following requirements. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), Construction/Independent Living Team, is conducting market research to determine the existence of contractor s that can perform the following: widen two (2) existing 30 hinged doorways and replace with 36 wide door and frame assembly (includes moving existing switches); remove existing tub and replace with roll in shower assembly to include hand held shower assembly and grab bars (existing plumbing connections to be reused); install backing for grab bars at toilet and install new grab bars; remove existing sink and replace with roll under sink; remove existing toilet and replace with highboy toilet; remove existing hallway and bedroom carpeting and replace with hard surface flooring; install portable access ramp to garage exit and replace door (swing on door will accommodate ramp), and remove existing hallway/kitchen entrance frame assembly and wrap with protective material. Install portable access ramp to Garage exit and replace door. (Swing on door will accommodate ramp). The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation and supplies, and perform all work required according to the specifications of the contract. The Contractor shall assume all risk, loss, damage, or expense arising out of prosecution of the work, except as otherwise provided in the contract. The Government s estimated construction time for the project is 40 calendar days. This is based on the most current information available to date. Updated information will be posted electronically on Federal Business Opportunities as it becomes available. Place of Performance: Radcliff, Kentucky 40160. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236118, and the small business size standard is $36.5M. The government anticipates award of a firm fixed price construction contract. The project will be considered for a sole-sourced set-aside to SDVOSB/VOSB based on the response to this notice and extensive market research. Any interested and qualified sources are requested to submit their companies capability statement (10 page count limit) and a letter of interest to Eural Bennett, contracting officer via email to eural.bennett1@va.gov. As part of your capability statement please include any current or past Government residential construction contracts you have been awarded or the ability to obtain sufficient proof of capability for this type of contract. Any information provided is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for information submitted in response to this Sources Sought Notice. To be considered in this research, please provide the information above not later than 12:00pm CST on May 1, 2018.
