Description
PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT Fume Hood Installation ERDC Vicksburg, MS BACKGROUND: The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL), Concrete and Materials Branch (CMB) is responsible for conducting materials characterization work that supports most of the branches in GSL as well as other labs in the ERDC. Maintaining functionality in our laboratories includes safely handling of chemicals and gases. As such we need fume hoods to whisk away harmful chemicals away from our researchers. SPECIFICATIONS: The CMB currently installed fume hoods in our labs and local DPW and SDAC contractors could not install them. As such we need outside contractors to help with this installation. 1. Furnish and install new stainless steel spiral ductwork to attach from two existing laboratory fume hoods to their existing laboratory duct work run. 2. Furnish and install new spiral epoxy coated duct work from existing four foot bench top hood to existing laboratory exhaust fan located on outside of lab building. 3. Furnish and install new supports to relocating existing fan away from roof overhang to allow installation of new zero pressure stack for fan. 4 Furnish and install new zero pressure stack to meet industry standards and best practices. 5. Furnish and install blast gates in each duct run. 6. Start up, test, balance, and certify exhaust systems if fans are operational. DELIVERY: The contract shall start two weeks after contract award date. The installation is to be performed at the location of the equipment in Bldg. 6000 of ERDC - Vicksburg.
