- FED BIZ OPPS Sources Sought Notice This Source Sought Notice is seeking qualified manufacturing sources capable of meeting the Government's requirements for a Critical Safety Item (CSI) Shear Bolt NSN: 5306011758767, Part Number: 70209-27007-104. As an Army Aviation CSI item, requirements will include: Contractor First Article Testing (FAT), Export Control, Serial Numbering Report Requirements and the following Quality Assurance Procedures: (QAP): 81996-QE-STD-1, QAP 14153-QAP 00506 and QAP EQ003. The present Approved Sources include: Specialty Tool Company USA, LLC, CAGE: 56937; Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, CAGE: 78286; M.S. Aerospace Inc., CAGE: 0UCY9 and Acufast Aircraft Products Inc., CAGE: 4GP55. T his Source Sought Notice will be followed by a FED BIZ OPPS Pre-Solicitation Notice and then a Request for Proposal (RFP) under solicitation SPE5EC18R0012. The authority for the solicitation will be FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiations. The resulting Long Term Contract Award will have a base period of two years and if warranted extended by three one year long option periods. This solicitation will be unrestricted (permitting large business to participate), have Origin Source inspection and shipment via FOB Origin. This CSI Shear Bolt is used on various military Helicopters and Aircrafts to secure equipment in place. Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation is the Design Control Source and their drawing is not available from the government. This Source Sought Notice is issued as a means to obtain competitive sourcing for its requirements and is part of Government's market research process. The government is in no way obligated to purchase any information or material submitted by respondents to this Source Sought Notice. If you are interested in becoming a qualified source of supply for this CSI Shear Bolt you are required to submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package. The complete package would have to be submitted to the CO (Al Meloni-FHAC, DLA Troop Support, Industrial Hardware BLDG 6, 700 Robbins Avenue, Phila., PA 19111 ) on a CD-ROM only, no paper copies. Any forthcoming solicitation for this item will not be held up while your SAR package is being evaluated by the Engineering Support Activity (ESA).
