This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY.    It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the  Government to award a contract.  Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response.  Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing.  The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified businesses interested and capable of providing the requested commodities. The NAICS Code is 339112; size standard is 1,000 employees. 100% VOSB set-aside. STATEMENT OF WORK Steris Ultrasonic Cleaner for SPS VA New Jersey Healthcare System, East Orange Campus Introduction The Steris Ultrasonic Cleaner Caviwave Pro supports the da Vinci Instrumentation for Robotic Surgery which was introduced to the NJVAHCS on December 1st, 2015 Background Sterile Processing Department is being enhanced with the OR acquisition of Robotics Surgery. The existing Steris Sonic cleaners are an older model and it won t be able to deliver the optimum cleaning force needed to care for the da Vinci Instrumentation used during Robotic Surgery. The Caviwave Pro Ultrasonic system is designed to thoroughly clean surgical instrumentation exposed to blood, tissue and other contaminants. This cleaning system meets all AAMI standards; a very important detail in acquiring this equipment, in view of preparedness for ISO Certification, and it is validated by the Intuitive Surgical Company, manufacturers of the da Vinci Instruments, also a must. This cleaner model contains all needed components to effectively clean da Vinci Instruments utilizing ultrasonic cavitation passing through a detergent balanced solution prior to disinfection and sterilization. This new model will be replaced the existing one in SPS and will allow the staff to work more effectively, because it provides more capability to handle more volume of instrumentation, minimize the labor-intensive manual cleaning of da Vinci Instruments and accessories, automatically flushes, cleans lubricates and dries the instruments. The need to perform Robotic surgery in our patient population is been increasing since first implemented. In order to support the Operating Room demands with this kind of surgery and keep standardized practice, we need to upgrade our second Ultrasonic Washer to a Robotic compatible as we did initially in Dec. 2015. The technology of the Robotic instrumentation has evolved since we first The acquisition of a second similar ultrasonic washer, with Robotics-cleaning capability, will help us to: Prevent delays in reprocessing due to the ultrasonic washer been out of service. This will represent the inability to scheduled two or more procedures in consecutive days and potential Infection Control issue and damage to instrumentation due to prolonged delay in cleaning. Reprocess these instrumentations in a faster time as we will have two Robotic-compatible washers. All equipment will be standardized-same Instructions for Use and elimination of extra training for the staff. Increase the OR Productivity as more cases can be scheduled more frequent. Inspections are conducted using the appropriate STERIS Engineering Service Preventive Maintenance Checklist and include any PM parts, lubricants, testing and adjustments necessary. Expendable and consumable parts are not covered in this program.
