- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ intends to issue a solicitation on a sole source basis for a maximum quantity of 90 each A/M-27T-15 Diesel Hydraulic Power Supply (DHPS), NSN 4920-01-523-5921, P/N 040489-100, to support the F-35 at Navy and Marine Corps facilities. The DHPS provided hydraulic power to aircraft during troubleshooting and maintenance. The procurement will be solicited on a sole source basis to Hydraulics International, Incorporated (HII), located in Chatsworth, CA, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source. HII is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the A/M-27-T-15 DHPS. Lockheed Martin has developed an alternative DHPS for use only on the F-35 however the Navy Common Support Equipment (CSE) unit, A/M-27T-15, provides significant logistic advantages such as minimizing footprint and support costs and has been selected by the Navy to support the F-35 at Navy and Marine Corps activities. The A/M-27T-15 is the only DHPS, other than the Lockheed Martin F-35 unique unit, that has been tested and approved for use with the F-35 aircraft by Lockheed Martin at their Systems Integration Laboratory. A fixed-price, Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract is anticipated to be awarded as a result of the solicitation. The maximum quantity over the life of the IDIQ will be 90 each.[PBCN21] This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
