Page 1 of 1 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the DESIGN-BUILD X-Ray Suite Site Prep project at the Northampton VA Medical Center (VAMC). PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Contractor shall provide Design-Build services for the X-Ray Suite Site Prep located at 421 N. Main Street, Leeds, MA 01053. The VA Medical Center at Central Western Massachusetts has procured a GE Discovery XR656 GII Radiographic System (XR656) to replace the aging Philips Optimus 80 DR X-Ray (80DR). This project includes designing and the site prep/modification of room 2112 to receive the new XR656. The 80DR will remain operational during construction and the installation and commissioning of the XR656. Upon completion of the in XR656 installation by GE Engineers, the Contractor shall finish the outstanding work for this room. Once the XR656 is operational, GE Engineers will decommission and remove the 80DR from room 2108. After removal of the 80DR, the General Contractor (Contractor) shall prepare room 2108 to receive a yet to be procured Fluoroscope. This Contract also includes converting rooms 2110 (change room) and 2108 (staff bathroom) into a common control room to serve both 2112 and 2108 rooms. Room 2108A (patient bathroom) shall be modified to provide ABA access and to also serve both rooms with a door to both rooms and a means to provide access to the room by one patient at a time. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Request For Proposal (RFP) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 15, 19, and 36.3 Two-Phase Design-Build Selection Procedures and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $36.5 Million. The solicitation will be issued on or about May 18, 2018. The period of performance is approximately 325 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to: thomas.council@va.gov.
