Amendment 00002 to RFQ 36C24618Q9143 Answers in response to questions submitted: Comment: Kawasaki Mules are not street legal, it s not possible to get them licensed. Question: Is the intention to use them on public streets in the USA? Answer: No. The vehicle will be used on station only. No license required. Comment: Power steering is not a factory option for the Kawasaki Mule 4010. Question: If another brand is purchased, will the "equal" status be based on engine size and overall vehicle size? Answer: No. The engine size and overall vehicle size is not part of the evaluation factors. However, the measurement from the seat to the ceiling must be Mid size no more than 36 inches high. Question: Can you clarify "Mid size no more than 36 inches high?" Is this referring to seat height or what does this specify? Answer: This is referring to seat height. The measurement from the seat to the ceiling must be Mid size no more than 36 inches high. Comment: Cargo covers for these models can only be found in a cover without coil springs for lift. Question: Can this specification be altered to allow for a rigid cover without the lift kit? Answer: No. This specification cannot be altered. The cargo covers on the VAMC s existing vehicles are spring coiled. The new vehicle needs to have the spring coiled covers to secure items in the cargo area. Comment: The solicitation ask for "Cab custom with glass lift windshield" Question: Can you provide the manufacturer of the 'Custom Cab'? Answer: For the brand name vehicle, the manufacturer is Kawasaki. Cab custom in the RFQ specs refers to the front of the vehicle with the doors and glass lift windshield. The doors can open going outward or upwards. Comment: Kawasaki provides a steel cab, but I want to confirm this is the cab requested, vs a custom one made specific to this requirement. Answer to this comment: The back cargo area needs to have a hard cab enclosure, a steel box that will hold mail bins and have a spring door and lock. Comment: Spec mentions mid size no more than 36 high. They also mention a cargo cover with coil springs for Cab lift kit. My guess if they re looking for an enclosed storage compartment for the bed of the unit (no more than 36 high) and a bed lift. Question: Any idea what they are referring to? Answer: See answers to questions 3, 4, and 5. Change/clarification: Estimated delivery 30-60 days ARO NOTE: Please send a picture of your vehicle with your quote. There are no other changes to RFQ 36C24618Q9143.
