- ATTACHMENT # 2 - BRAND NAME SPECIFICATION REV 5-8-18 ATTACHMENT # 1 - GOVERNMENT MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS REV 5-8-18 The purpose of this amendment is the following: 1. Answer questions from industry. 2. Attach Attachment # 1 - Government Minimum Requirements REV 5-8-18 and Attachment # 2 - Brand Name Specification REV 5-8-18. NOTE: Quotes shall be in accordance with the revised Attachment # 1 and # 2 in order to be determined technically acceptable. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: Q1: The Government Minimum Requirement state that 72 of the 90 drives are to be installed. Is the requirement for the 4U SERVER to hold 90 drives or 72 drives leaving 18 drives as cold spares? Please confirm. A1: Yes, the requirement is for the 4U server to hold 90 drives, with 72 drives installed, leaving 18 drives as cold spares. Q2: The Government Minimum Requirements state "Two (2) dual open 10GBase SFP+ Ethernet ports." Is the requirement for 2x dual port SFP+ cards or 1x dual port SFP+ card? A2: The requirement is for one (1) dual port SFP+ card. See Attachment # 1 - Government Minimum Requirements REV 5-8-18. Q3: The Government Minimum Requirements state "QTY=2 per unit; 2.5 inch 120GB (or larger) SATA3 (6Gbps) or SAS3 (12Gbps) hard drives in a RAID 1 (mirrored) standard configuration for the operating system." Is the requirement for the SSDs to be in a hardware RAID 1 or will a software RAID 1 be acceptable? A3: The Government's Requirement is for a hardware RAID 1 configuration. Q4: The Government Minimum Requirements state "QTY=2 per unit; 5 meter passive copper 24AWG 10GBase SFP+ direct attach cables." What brand/model network switch will these cables be plugged into? A4: No brand, make, or model switch is specified. All items proposed need to meet the Government Minimum Requirements. Q5: Does the Government require a HW RAID controller? A5: The Government requires a hardware RAID controller. Q6: How many actual drives should the NAS server host? The Government Minimum Requirements spells out 72 from the 90 drives but it is unclear on how many drives the server should hold. A6: The requirement is for the 4U server to hold 90 drives, with 72 drives installed, leaving 18 drives as cold spares. Q7: Please clarify the Government Minimum Requirement licensing requirement for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server version 7? Attachment #1 states a 1-year license is required, while Attachment #2 states a 5-year license is required. A7: See revised version of Attachment # 1 and Attachment #2. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
