Description
The Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, is interested in awarding one (1) Firm Fixed Price Contract for maintenance dredging of the Wilmington Harbor, Christina River, Delaware. (a) Dredging will be required to a depth of 35' MLLW (Datum) plus 1' allowable overdepth within the contract work limits shown on the drawings from station 0+000 to station 1+650, with no side slopes delineated and/or paid for along the south channel edge (box cut). Dredging will be required to a distance of 25 feet outside the North Channel edge when required dredging depths exist inside the channel along the perimeter of the north edge, with no side slopes delineated and/or paid for. (b) Dredging will be required to a depth of 38' MLLW (Datum) plus 1' allowable overdepth within the contract work limits shown on the drawings from station 1+650 to station 6+236, with no side slopes delineated and/or paid for along the south channel edge (box cut). Dredging will be required to a distance of 25 feet outside the North Channel edge, north turning basin edges, and entrance widening (flare) when required dredging depths exist inside the channel and basin, along the perimeter of the aforementioned north limits, with no side slopes delineated and/or paid for. (c) No end slopes will be specified for this contract. This is a contour dredging job. Before and after dredging quantities will be computed on the same basis as those issued by amendment to the advertisement. Survey control description sheets for this work shall remain the same as provided under the solicitation. (d) Hydrographic surveys under this contract will be accomplished with use of laser, microwave or DGPS positioning equipment. In addition, single transducer sounding techniques or multi-transducer sweeps, or both will perform these surveys. Bottom Soundings will be calibrated daily by the bar or ball-check method or sound velocity profiler to account for variations of speed of sound in water. Project Environmental Window: All dredging (hydraulic and bucket) is restricted during the period between April 1 and June 15 annually in order to minimize impacts to migratory fish.(d) The Pedricktown North Disposal Area will be made available for the disposal of all dredged material removed by this contract work. Estimated cost range of the project is $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required for 100% of contract award. The NAICS Code for this project is 237990 and the small business size standard is $27.5 Million.
