- Description
- This contract will provide four new bulkhead sections and two lifting beams. New equalizing valves will be installed in the two upper bulkhead sections themselves and controlled from the intake structure main floor. The new equalizing valve will be operated by a lever actuated pneumatically from the intake deck. An air hose will be attached to the bulkhead prior to lowering the bulkhead in the slot. The new lifting beams and hook on top of the bulkheads will be designed and fabricated by the contractor. The new bulkheads and lifting beams will be painted with an appropriate paint system identified in the specifications. The new bulkheads and lifting beams will be manufactured off-site and fit-tested in the slot after delivery. The contractor may be required to provide a mobile crane to conduct the fit test if the existing bridge crane is out of service. The contractor shall provide inspection reports and as-built drawings.
