Description
This is a sources sought notice only. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to gain market knowledge of potential small businesses that can support the VA Northern California Health Care System with a pool of Vascular Laboratory Technology Ultrasound Technologists services (see description of services and qualification requirements below.) The applicable NAICS Code is 621512, with a small business size standard of $15 million. All small businesses capable of providing this service are encouraged to reply, as responses will be used by the Government to make determinations about the appropriate set-aside. No solicitation is available at this time. After review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, a synopsis and/or solicitation announcement may be published at a later time. Description of Services: The VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) has a requirement for a contractor to provide a pool of Vascular Laboratory Technologists (VLT) to cover the range of Vascular Lab services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility. Contractor VLT shall be available and present during normal Vascular Section hours (8 hours a day, 5 days per week). Current, vascular sections are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts). Qualifications: Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) -accredited and capable of maintaining the workflow volume of approximately 3,000 studies per year. Certified and maintain certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) along with the 10 Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements per year. Must have at least 2-3 years of clinical experience. The Vascular Lab Technologist must have experience and be able to perform the following exams: Carotid duplex ultrasound (DUS), lower extremity arterial DUS, upper extremity DUS, lower extremity bypass graft DUS, venous reflux study, abdominal aorta and iliac artery DUS, post-endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair DUS, upper extremity vein mapping for dialysis access, lower extremity vein mapping, mesenteric artery DUS, renal artery DUS, and upper extremity hemodialysis fistula or arteriovenous graft DUS. The Vascular Laboratory Technologist is also responsible for performing intraoperative duplex ultrasounds after carotid endarterectomy and lower extremity bypass grafting. Furthermore, the technician must be able to provide support for evaluation of femoral artery pseudoaneurysms.
