- THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS A SYNOPSIS (SUMMARY). THE SOLICITATION PERTAINING TO THIS NOTICE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 15 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THIS NOTICE. The Army Contracting Command-Redstone has a requirement for the acquisition of two (2) each Fabrication of A/N720 CMC Base Attachment Rings and two (2) each Fabrication of A/N720 CMC Base Insulation Rings. Additionally, this equipment must meet the requirements stated below: 1. The material's nominal fiber orientation shall be [0/90]; 2. The material's nominal composite density shall be 2.73 gm/cc; 3. The material's nominal fiber volume shall be 45%; 4. The material's nominal open porosity shall be 25%; and 5. The material's nominal room temperature, modulus, and strength shall be 70 GPa and 169 Mpa, respectively. This requirement will be solicited as a sole source requirement to COI Ceramics, Inc. 7130 Miramar Road, Suite 1008 San Diego, CA 9212. COI Ceramics, Inc. is identified as the only vendor able to provide the stated Base Attachment Rings and Base Insulation Rings. Solicitation number W31P4Q-18-Q-0083 is to be a firm fixed price acquisition, in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b). The corresponding NAICS code for this procurement is 336419. CLIN 0001 will be issued as two (2) each fabrications of A/N720 CMC Base Attachment Rings, CLIN 0002 will be issued as two (2) each fabrications of A/N720 CMC Base Insulation Rings, CLIN 0003 will be issued for shipping and handling. All responsible concerns may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Contract award is anticipated on or about 8 June 2018.
