- The purpose of this amendment is the following: 1. To extend the closing date and time. NOTE: A deadline for Industry Submission of Questions is hereby established. The deadline for questions submission is 2:00 PM EST on 14 May 2018. After this date and time, the Government may not respond to questions received. 2. Answer questions and answers from industry. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: Q8: 72 drives requirement in a 4U leads to use of a chassis that accommodates two (2) physical disk drives in a single drive carrier. Please confirm that this is an acceptable solution. A8: As long as the drives are hot swappable this is acceptable. Q9: The requirement states "NAS Storage must be fully assembled and operational" with OS requirement of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7. Does the Government require any additional configuration besides installation of Operating System for this storage server to be used as a NAS storage device? A9: This means that all drivers for the RAID controller, the SAS host adapter with external ports, and the Ethernet cards must be installed and configured in Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7. Q10: Regarding 4 port external Host Bus Adapter requirement, please clarify if this requirement refers to 4x PHY ports (1x physical mini SAS connector) or 4x physical mini SAS connectors (16x PHY ports). A10: The 4x PHY ports (1x physical mini SAS connector) meets the requirement. Q11: Warranty requirement for drives is "5-Year Keep Your Drive" type of warranty. What is the overall warranty required for this storage server? Also, identify the type of warranty service requirement (i.e. Advanced Parts Replacement, Next Business Day Onsite, Any Security Clearance required for Onsite visit etc.) A11: No other warranty is required. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. **NOTE: This amendment was modified on 5/15/18 at 8:30 a.m. (EST) only to correct an admin error in the numbering of the questions and answers. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS Q12: What is the Government requirement for ports on the HBA? A12: The 6Gbps SAS2 controller must have at least four ports (this can be one physical mini SAS connector that breaks out into 4 ports). The 12 Gbps SAS3 RAID controller must have at least one 12Gbps SAS3 expansion port as well. Q13: What is the Government Minimum Requirement for ports on the HBA? Does Broadcom 9300-4i4e PCI-Express 3.0 SATA / SAS 4-Port Int, 4-Port Ext SAS3 12Gb/s HBA, meet the requirement? A13: The Broadcom 9300-4i4e PCI-Express host bus adapter meets the requirements for the 4 SAS external ports. Q14: Is the Government Minimum Requirement for a 90 or 70 bay system? A14: The requirement is for at least 72 hot swappable 3.5 inch hard drive bays.
