MK 38 25mm MGS COAX KIT Disclaimer This is a Sources Sought Notice. This notice neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government from an alternate acquisition approach. This notice should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. Requests for solicitation will not receive a response. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any input as a result of this market survey. The U.S. Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. Description The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division, Contracts Department, Code 02, is seeking potential sources for supply of MK 38 25mm Machine Gun Systems (MGS) COAX KITs, used in the Coax Gun Ordnance Alteration (ORDALT) on the MK 38 MGS Mod 2 and 3. The requirement involves manufacture, assemble, inspect, preserve, package and shipment of the required items. The deliverables must meet or exceed the following specifications: • Chute Assembly, 7.62 Composite; • Corrosion Resistant Utility Box Assembly, MK 38 Mod 2; • Axle Mount Assembly, 7.62mm Chain Gun Mounting Hardware; • Box Assembly, 7.62 Ammo; • Ammo Can Mounting Components; • Coaxial Gun Control Unit Mounting Components; • Harness Assembly, W39; • Harness Assembly, W46; • Cable Pass Thru and Jumper Plug. Purpose The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to identify potential sources for the manufacture and delivery of MK 38 25mm MGS COAX KITs. Potential sources should have design, production engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance expertise and skills for this or similar items. The manufacture of these kits include components, assembly and packaging. The Government will perform First Article Testing and Second Article Testing at NSWC IHEODTD Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. Planned Acquisition The U.S. Government plans to award a Firm Fixed Price single-award contract with a base year and 3 option years in FY19. Should a contract be pursued, the U.S. Government anticipates awarding an estimated quantity of 190 kits and spares during the performance of the contract. Requested Information The respondents shall provide the following information: • A description of the item(s) that may be offered, should the government pursue procurement of this item. • Past performance in manufacturing of the requested or similar items. • A description of technical and manufacturing capabilities as applicable to this item. • A description of facilities, personnel, and testing capabilities. • All interested sources shall provide a company brochure or list of specifications, organization name, address, a point of contact, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, business size, DUNS number, and CAGE Code.
