Description
The Superintendent of Gateway National Recreation Area announces a competitive Leasing Opportunity and has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) in connection with a Lease for use and occupancy of historic land at Gateway National Recreation Area. The use authorized under the Lease will be limited to camping as described in the RFP. The lease term will be approximately seven (7) months and is expected to run from June or July of 2018 through Veterans Day 2018. NPS may consider additional time for setup and breakdown. The Lease will be issued in accordance with 54 USC 102102 and 36 CFR 18. The Lease will authorize overnight camping operations and camping supply rentals in the vicinity of 169th Street and Davis Road, Fort Tilden, Queens in the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area. The locations are further identified and depicted in the attached RFP. Applicants may submit proposals for the use of all three locations but must limit the use to not more than a total of twenty (20) sites across all three (3) locations, in any combination, with a limit of not more than ten (10) sites at any one location. Gateway has completed a market study of the leasing opportunity and has determined the minimum Fair Market Value Rent is 9% of gross receipts earned. Please consider this new information when formulating your response to Criterion 3.
