Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20, is conducting market research to identify potential sources which can provide the following items and installation: Replacement of the existing door operators with HD Swing Door Operators to include Relay Activation Boards and Touchless Activated Switches. This includes removal of the existing and installation of the new. Requirement to take place at the Spokane VAMC, 4815 N Assembly St, Spokane, WA 99505 Door Operators: Brand Name or Equal to Horton HD Swing 4100 Must be compatible with the existing station equipment - DOOR OPERATOR HORTON HD SWING 4100 with BEA Relay Activation Board and Touchless Activated Switch Must provide positive control of door through entire swing; units shall permit use of butt hung, center pivot doors, and offset hinge. The operator must be mounted in the floor of the existing door frame or wall. Must have top access, stainless steel case Operator must be isolation mounted and concealed in a stainless-steel case. Maximum current draw cannot exceed 3.15 amps. Opening: Must have opening action via a minimum 1/8 HP D.C. permanent magnet motor working through reduction gears to the output shaft. Gear train bearings must be sealed ball bearing types. Closing: Must have a minimum of four independent coil springs separated by teflon discs and enclosed in an external spring box. The spring shall be adjustable to accommodate a wide range of field conditions. The device must have an independent adjustable closing and latching speed control with a rheostat module and mounted in self-contained remote box. The unit must possess field adjustable open stop to accommodate opening angles from 80 to 135 degrees without the need for additional components. The unit must provide an even, consistent open force across the entire transition from door fully closed to door open check with the range of the force field adjustable to accommodate a wide range of on-site conditions. The unit must function as a manual door closer in the direction of swing with or without electrical power delivering an even, consistent open force across the entire transition from door fully closed to door fully open. The unit must have: a. Automatic Reset upon power up b. Main fuse protection. c. Electronic surge protection. d. Internal power supply protection. e. Resettable sensor supply fuse protection. The unit must have a soft-start soft-stop motor driving circuit The unit must be equipped with a three-position function switch to control the operation of the door with three modes of operation, Automatic, Off, and Hold-Open. The unit must have a Master Control comprised of: a. Adjustable time delay of 1 to 28 seconds. b. The ability for Infinite adjustment to opening and open check speeds including adjusting the opening force without affecting the opening speed. c. Immediate reversal of door motion without undue strain on the drive train. The door must have the ability to reverse when closing if an object stops the door. d. Motor Protection Circuit: A locked door motor protection circuit will be supplied that will shut off current to the motor when the door is inadvertently locked or otherwise prevented from opening. RELAY BOARDS AND TOUCHLESS ACTIVATED SWITCHES: BRAND NAME OR EQUAL TO BEA MS-11 Must have MW Doppler Radar Must have bidirectional motion, toggle or timed mode Must have minimum sensing zone of 2-24 inches and be adjustable Must have hold time of 1-30 seconds Must have alert settings: Audible, Visual, Silent or Signal Must have a stainless-steel faceplate/ABS (center) Potential candidates having the capabilities necessary to provide the above stated equipment are invited to respond to this Sources Sought Notice via e-mail to Laura Davis at laura.davis5@va.gov no later than May 24, 2018 6AM PDT.
