Sources Sought only. This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis (market survey). This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are NOT offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The purpose of this sources sought is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified/verified Small businesses relative to the North American Industry Classification code (NAICS) 335999, All Other Miscellaneous Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing. The Small Business Size Standard for this NAICS code is 500 employees. To make an appropriate acquisition decision for this requirement, the Government will use responses to this sources sought synopsis. The type of solicitation issued and the manner of advertisement will depend on the responses to this sources sought synopsis. Requirement The Department of Veterans Affairs, Altoona VA Medical Center has a requirement for a contractor to provide and install card reader and an automatic door closer per the requirements below. Equipment is brand name only, no substitutions will be accepted: Vendor to furnish and install the following with Installation performed by AAADM Certified Technicians where applicable: 1. Salto Brand Card reader (Brand Name Only) compatible with current Salto XS4-E40 hardware 2. BEA Microscan LZR safety sensors 3. Record USA 8100HD Automatic Operator for dual panel application (Low Profile design) name brand or equal with following characteristics. Microprocessor Control with Plug and Play Electromechanical Operator Quiet Drive Assembly for Silent Operator Standard Arms with Through Bolt Mounting Surge Protection and Fuse Protection Automatic Reset Button with Self Diagnostic Adjustable Hold Open/ Close/ Opening Speed Adjustable Back Check Dedicated Security Terminals and Fire Alarm for Plug and Play tie in. 3 Position Switch ON/OFF/Hold Open ADA Compliant Wireless Push Plates Clear Anodized finish Fire Alarm signal tied into main fire alarm system (by Betwy Systems) Functionality of the completed work will allow the following: -To enter Radiology Area, access must be granted from Salto Card Reader System. Once a card has been scanned the card reader will send a signal to the operator which will retract the electric strike/vertical rods and open the door automatically. There will also be a manual push button located at the check-in window for the attendant to open the doors by pressing the button a signal will be sent to the door operator which will retract the electric strike/ vertical rods and open the door automatically. -To exit the Radiology Area, a sensor will pick up the approaching person sending a signal to the door operator which will retract the electric strike/ vertical rods and open the door automatically. There will also be a push plate for manually activating the doors to perform the same sequence as the sensor. Submission Requirements for responses to this Sources Sought Notice: (1) Your intent to submit a quote for this solicitation when it is formally advertised. (2) Name of firm with address, phone and point of contact. (3) Statement of Capability (SOC) stating your capabilities to meet this requirement and what facilities you can provide to. (4) A copy of SAM.GOV active registration. Must reflect Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) and Small Business Administration Certification of Small Business Type, (Reps/Certs) (5) A statement addressing your socioeconomic status such as Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Veteran-Owned, Woman-Owned, Hubzone, etc. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice must be received by 11:00am EST, June 7, 2018.
