- Page 1 of 1 Page 1 of 1 This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 7 (NCO 7) intends to award a contract for Progessa PRO-85 System on a sole source basis with Hill-Rom, Inc. (DUNS: 004245668), pursuant to FAR 8.405-6. The proposed sole source delivery order is for nineteen (19) Hill-Rom Progressa PRO-885 intensive care unit beds with Chair Egress Frame Design, inclusive of Nurse rails, and Casters. The approved action is a sole source award to Hill-Rom, Inc. on FSS Schedule 65 II A, SIN A-69 for delivery to Ralph H Johnson VAMC located at 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401. The facility currently has bed systems that will integrate with Hill-Rom Progressa PRO-885 hospital beds in the intensive care unit. The facility approved Intensive Care Unit Expansion Project The Progress Hill Rom Beds System has been trialed in the Intensive Care Unit Environment to replace part of the existing inventory, due to the age of the existing equipment. and the requested beds will meet the needs of the newly expanded unit the beds requested have specialized safety mechanisms and is therapeutic device that acts a seamless extension of the healthcare system already in use. The same make and model must be purchased for continuity of care. Bed functions differ significantly enough between brands to cause a disruption to operations by having equipment from multiple different manufacturers. The Progressa Bed offers unique featured to include Stay in Place Technology, Therapy Surface Powered Air, Advanced Microclimate Technology, and Integrated x-ray cassettes. The facility requires 15 additional units of the same make and model of ICU bed to replace part of the existing inventory. The same make and model must be purchased for continuity of care. Bed functions differ significantly enough between brands to cause a disruption to operations by having equipment from different manufacturers. FSS Schedule 65 II A is a mandatory source and Hill-Rom is the only available source on FSS Schedule 65 II A for the Progressa PRO-885 ICU Bed. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, responsible sources with similar products may submit their capabilities no later than June 6, 2018, 12:00PM, EST to be considered for future requirements; capability statements may be sent to Chantel Guest, Contract Specialist at chantel.guest@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
