- Description
- Engineering and Technical Services for the MK 46 MOD 2 Gun Weapon System (GWS) The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a Delivery Order under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00024-15-G-5336, with General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS), Sterling Heights, MI, for Engineering and Technical Services for the 30mm MK 46 MOD 2 Gun Weapon System (GWS). These efforts include, but will not be limited to, finalization of all required technical documentation, logistic support, engineering support, waterfront support, technical support and viewgraph presentation in support technical meetings and program reviews. Efforts also include the open, inspect, and assessment of designated failed material/equipment. GDLS is the designer and original equipment manufacture of the MK 46 MOD 2 GWS. As the designer and developer of the MK 46 MOD 2 GWS, GDLS is the only source that possesses the necessary technical expertise, to provide the services in required timely manner. Parties interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact GDLS directly. The proposed Delivery Order is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement no later than fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis. Any submissions will not be reimbursed by the Government -- the entire cost of any submission will be at the sole expense of the source submitting the information. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed delivery order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the decision of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
