FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ANNOUNCEMENT: SPECIAL NOTICE CLASSIFICATION CODE: 66 - Instruments and Laboratory Equipment SUBJECT: Slimvue Microscope Optical Microscope CONTACT POINTS: Gizabi, Sedigah, Contract Specialist (301) 975-8429; Cowins, Robert, Contracting Officer (301) 975-8335 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole-source basis, with Cascade Microtech, Inc., under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b), for the procurement of a Slimvue Microscope Optical Microscope to be used by NIST Physical Measurement Laboratory (PML), in Gaithersburg, MD. ***** Sole source determination is based on the need to acquire a Slimvue Microscope Optical Microscope for an existing Cascade Microtech PM8 probe station high stability bridge to improve measurements to characterize the fundamental electro-thermal reliability of advanced interconnects in emerging nanoelectronics devices. The required Slimvue Microscope Optical Microscope must be able to magnify and resolve 100-micron pitch features at test high temperatures and must be compatible with microwaves (up to at least 40 GHz), without modifications to the existing probe station; it must provide higher optical magnification with adequate resolution (100 microns pitch), at longer working distances (about 30 mm), and high-test temperatures (at least 100 °C). ***** The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition 333314 - Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 employees. ***** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. Interested parties that believe they can satisfy the requirements listed above must identify their capability in writing before the response date of this notice. Only responses received by 06/13/2018, 12:00 p.m., EST will be considered by the government. Responses shall be submitted via email to sedigah.gizabi@nist.gov or robert.cowins@nist.gov.
