Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7 located in Charleston, SC intends to issue a sole source firm fixed priced contract to General Devices, 1000 River Street, Ridgefield, New Jersey, 07657. General Devices provides the CAREpoint workstations and system. CAREpoint is the only FDA cleared Hospital/EMS telemedicine system that is completely interoperative, integrating cellular, landline and radio communications modalities, as well as 12-lead ECG, voice and data recording, secure messaging capability, and information management, into one easy-to-use unit designed specifically for this purpose. Ralph H. Johnson VAMC will utilize this system to communicate with surrounding medical facilities. This is needed to reduce door to treatment time for patients coming into our Emergency Department via community emergency medical response transport and to communicate with local area hospitals in the event of a disaster (i.e., bio hazard, major natural disaster, ect.) within the community. CAREpoint is the system used by all surrounding hospitals and medical facilities. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b) (2), soliciting from a single source. The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 339112 Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing with a Small Business Size Standard of 1000 employees. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responsible sources may email their capability statements to michael.giffon@va.gov NLT 0800, June 13, 2018. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
