- Description
- S.O.W. N.O.T. This contract action is for the acquisition of services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1). The National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS), Office of Acquisitions (OA) intends to award a single source purchase order to Duke University, Integrative Metabolomics Resource, (DUMC 3813), Department of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology, Durham, NC, 27710 for the acquisition of Metabolite Profiling Study services. The Immunity, Inflammation, and Disease Laboratory studies the role of non-canonical autophagy on inflammatory response. Recent microarray/RNASeq results indicate that cells that are deficient for our gene of interest, Rubicon, have an altered metabolic profile. In recognizing inflammation and cellular metabolism are intricately linked, the Immunity, Inflammation, and Disease Laboratory is proposing to perform metabolism research in their cells in collaboration with the Integrative Metabolomics Resource at Duke University. This level of analysis from the Integrative Metabolomics Core provides information about the flow of nutrients in metabolic pathways. It has been determined that Duke University, Integrative Metabolomics Resource, is the only source that can perform the required services, as they are the only known source that utilizes the most up-to-date technology with amide-based hydrophilic chromatography for polar metabolites, high resolution mass spectrometry and a general cold methanol extraction method. The plate platform from Duke University, Integrative Metabolomics Resource is compatible with plate platforms currently utilized in the lab. Item #1- Integrative Metabolomics Study- Quantity: 116 Samples
