Description
Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole source follow-on modification to BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration, BAE Systems Information and Electronic Warfare Systems, Hudson, NH for the FRP-7 (FY18) of the Advanced Kill Weapon System II under an existing Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The resultant modification will be Firm Fixed Price (FFP) for the procurement of: (a) APKWS II Guidance Sections (WGU-59/B) for an estimated quantity of 5,000; and (b) Navy Shipping and Storage Container (NSSC) CNU-711. The anticipated IDIQ contract modification will fulfill the needs of the US and potential FMS customers. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to award with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within thirty days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. BAE Systems is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the APKWS II, and as such, is the only known source available with the requisite technical knowledge, experience and tooling to produce the requirements described herein, in order to satisfy the Government's requirement. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code for the supplies anticipated needed herein is 336414. IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR INTERESTED PARTIES: There are no commitments by the Government to issue any solicitations, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract for the efforts mentioned above.
