Description
Solicitation Plans 4/4 Plans 3/4 Plans 3/4 Plans 1/4 Specs This is a solicitation notice for relocation of 4-6 houses, and removal and installation of 4-7 new septic systems in Davis Park and Point O's Woods, Fire Island Suffolk County, NY. The purpose of the Fire Island Inlet to Moriches Inlet (FIMI) Contract #3B, Ocean Bay Park to Davis Park, project is to provide protection to the mainland and barrier island by reducing the potential for breaching and overwash of the barrier island. Implementation of the initial construction will reinforce the existing dune and berm system along the island to help ensure the protection of property and natural resources before the next large storm event. The second phase (Contract #3B3) is necessary to relocate several structures prior to beach and dune fill in this reach. By relocating the structures a more contiguous, naturally contouring, and resilient dune will be constructed. Work to be performed includes: Relocation of 4-6 houses, and removal and installation of 4-7 new septic systems. The relocations will be in Davis Park, and one septic system is in Point O' Woods. The work involves temporarily moving the houses onto cribbing, removal and installation of pile foundations, connection of the house to the new foundation, utility disconnection, abandoning or demolishing septic systems, installation of new septic systems, disposal of debris, and obtaining necessary permits. Complexities include sandy soils, pile foundation removal and installation, limited vehicle access, bringing all supplies and removing all debris by water access(boat/barge) only, and coordination with multiple utilities. This will be 100% set aside for small business. The solicitation will be an invitation for bid, awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. The estimated construction cost magnitude is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The NAICS Code is 238990 House Moving (size standard $15 million average annual receipts for preceding three fiscal years).
