- Cover Page/Combined Synopsis_Wenden Attachment E-SF 1449 RFP SP800018R0004_Wenden Attachment D-Past Performance Questionnaire_Wenden Attachment C-Wage Determinations_Wenden Attachment B-Evaluation Criteria_Wenden Attachment A-PWS & Attachments_Wenden DLA Strategic Materials intends obtain services to repair/upgrade 1,852 feet of existing rail spur and connect this spur to the Arizona & California Railroad mainline north of the site, making it operational for at least ten (10) standard ore hauling railroad cars. Services will be performed at the Defense Logistics Agency Strategic Materials Leased Storage Site located at Wenden, Arizona. This site is leased from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The existing rail spur heads are from the Arizona and California Railroad right of way. Roughly, 1,302 feet of track is within the site property line. This consists of ballast, ties, tie plates, spikes and rails. A scale and pit consist of 42 feet, and old concrete dump pits, 30 feet, of the total on site track. Roughly, 550 feet of track was removed within the Railroad right-of-way, with only ballast remaining. Topography is relatively flat with a slight gradient to the northwest. Surface water generally drains northwest towards the Centennial Wash, the final watershed of the Gila River. The Contractor shall install a new turnout, and track within the railroad right-of-way into the existing rail spur, and connect this spur to the Arizona & California Railroad. This includes new ballast, ties, tie plates, spikes, joint bars, bolts, gauge bars and rail. The Contractor shall make the existing rail spur useable, by replacing any materials that are deficient, such as ballast, ties, tie plates, spikes. Repair of any washed out areas of roadbed.
