USHMM is the national institution for the documentation, study, and interpretation of Holocaust history and serves as this country's memorial to the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust. USHMM's primary mission is to advance and disseminate knowledge about this unprecedented tragedy, preserve the memory of those who suffered, and encourage its visitors to reflect upon the moral and spiritual questions raised by the events of the Holocaust. USHMM's ability to provide for the security and safety of its staff, visitors, property, and collections is paramount to the successful operation of the Museum. As such, and with an increasing number of visitors and events, USHMM's Division of Protection Services (DPS) has an uncompromising need for full staffing of a technically proficient and professionally responsive security officer/protection services force. USHMM therefore is soliciting proposals to obtain management, supervision, labor, equipment, and supplies necessary to fulfill the Museum's professional security officer requirements as further described in the attached RFP. Following award, personnel assigned to the Contract shall undertake performance at all USHMM facilities, including both the Museum building and the adjacent Ross Administrative Building ("Annex") at 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW, Washington, D.C. 20024-2126; at USHMM's off-site facility, The David and Fela Shapell Conservation, Collections and Research Center in Bowie, MD; and at USHMM's option and upon request, at USHMM leased space in the Portals III office complex, located at 1201 Maryland Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 200024.
