Description

The work includes an operational change to the current seasonal changeover to restore full-time chilled water service to the critical areas of Wing 6. Additionally, the existing dedicated, constant speed chilled water pump will be replaced with two variable speed pumps, one of which will be used as a stand-by pump in the event that one pump is out of service. Differential Pressure Sensors (DPS) will be installed in critical locations to control the pump speed to satisfy the chilled water load. The use of pump motors with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) also provides energy savings, as only the chilled water demand that is needed is pumped and the current pump being replaced operates only at full speed. The contract also includes incidental related work.
