Description
ATPD 2319F Draft Market Survey for the Hippo The purpose of this questionnaire is to obtain information on industry capability to satisfy U.S. Army requirements for a water storage and distribution system of the Load Handling System (LHS) Compatible Water Tank Rack System (Hippo). The System configuration shall be designed to meet the Army's ATPD 2319 Rev F (draft). The Hippo system consists of a 2,000-gallon, hard walled, stainless steel potable water tank in an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) compatible steel frame. It is capable of being transported using the Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck - Load Handling System (HEMTT-LHS) as the prime mover, as well as the Palletized Loading System (PLS) truck and PLS trailer. It is equipped with an integrated pump, engine, alternator, hose reel, heater, and fill stand capable of receiving, storing, and distributing potable water to the Army division and brigade areas. The Hippo is C-130 aircraft transportable. The Hippo system possesses a freeze prevention capability allowing extended operation in ambient temperatures down to -25 degrees Fahrenheit. The entire system, with full water payload, shall weigh less than 26,000 pounds. The U.S. Army currently intends to award a long term contract for the manufacturing and delivery of this system. A competitive source selection may be employed to award this production contract. A Government conducted Product Verification Test (PVT) will be required before production can proceed. The contractor could be required to develop and delivery Army formatted Training Materials, Technical Manuals, Provisioning Data, First Article Test (FAT) parts and tools support package, Two Level Maintenance Charts, Packaging Data, Transportation Instructions, contractor test support of Government testing, and Level III Technical Data Package.
