Contact Bill Marcks by COB June 23, 2018 to confirm attendance. See RFO for full details ******************** This is an 8(a)/SDVOSB-ASIDE. This procurement is ONLY open to registered 8(a) and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) in accordance with the following NAICS CODE: 236220, Commercial and Institutional Construction. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: BASE BUILDING 1.Contractor supplied materials shall require an approved FAA submittal prior to purchase and installation of such materials. 2.Contractor shall R & R all window and door frame sealants with Dow corning sealants. (The Dow Corning rep shall give guidance as to which sealant shall be used on each type of application. The FAA rep shall be on site to meet with the contractor and Dow rep while determining sealant type). 3.Contractor shall R & R base building failed fixed window seals. How many seals will be determined at a mandatory pre-bid walk through. 4.Contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing roof hatch. F & I a Bilco safety roof hatch w/ safety railing system. Contractor shall field measure the hatch to be installed 5.Contractor shall F & I Rooftop Anchor modular guardrail system for the perimeter of the base building roof. The guardrail system shall be a counter weighted system and shall meet OSHA requirements 6.PROVIDE AND INSTALL A NEW ROOF LIGHTNING PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR THE BASE BUILDING AND RESTORE AND UPGRADE TOWER ROOF LIGHTNING PROTECTION SYSTEM TO MEET OR EXCEED THE REQUIREMENTS OF FAA STANDARD, FAA-STD-019E, ORDERS, PROJECT DRAWINGS, AND THE FOLLOWING: 7.STANDARDS FOR INSTALLATION OF LIGHTNING PROTECTION SYSTEMS (NFPA 780) 8.INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS FOR LIGHTNING PROTECTION SYSTEMS (UL 96A) 9.PROVIDE CLASS II OR LARGER RATED MATERIALS, AS SPECIFIED IN NFPA 780 FOR AIR TERMINALS, MAIN AND DOWN CONDUCTORS AND BONDING CONDUCTORS. 10.NUMBER OF DOWN CONDUCTORS SHALL BE BASED ON FAA-STD-019E. MAKE SURE DOWN CONDUCTORS FOLLOW THE MOST DIRECT PATH TO EARTH AND MAIN AND BONDING CONDUCTORS MAINTAIN A HORIZONTAL OR DOWNWARD PATH. 11.AIR TERMINALS SHALL BE SOLID COPPER, BRONZE OR ALUMINUM, 12-IN HIGH MINIMUM, WITH 1/2 IN DIAMETER FOR COPPER AND 5/8-IN DIAMETER FOR ALUMINUM AND INSTALLED AS PER NFPA 780 AND UL 96A. 12.ALL PRODUCTS SHALL BE UL LISTED AND LABELED WITH THE UL CERTIFICATION MARK IN ACCORDANCE WITH UL REQUIREMENTS. 13.PLEASE NOTE THAT INCLUSION OF A UL MASTER LABEL ALONE SHALL NOT BE SUFFICIENT TO INDICATE COMMPLIANCE WITH FAA-STD-019F. ATCT 1.Contractor supplied materials shall require an approved FAA submittal prior to purchase and installation of such materials. 2.Contractor shall remove portions of catwalk above metal roof protrusions to repair failed flashing and metal covers at each protrusion. The metal protrusions shall be coated with SIKA liquid flashing (Per manf. Specs) after repairs have been completed. The removed catwalk grating shall be replaced after roofing work is completed. 3.Contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing roof hatch. F & I a Bilco safety roof hatch w/ safety railing system. Contractor shall field measure the hatch to be installed 4.Contractor shall R & R cab glass sealant w/ Dow Corning sealant. Corning rep shall give guidance as to which sealant shall be used on each type of application. The FAA rep shall be on site to meet with the contractor and Dow rep while determining sealant type). All weep holes shall be opened up if plugged with sealant. 5.Contractor shall R & R all door & window frames with new sealant and flashed if req. 6.Contractor shall F & I 2 new PVC thermopane low E glass windows on 2nd and 3rd floor NW side of tower shaft. 7.Contractor shall F & I 1 thick insulated metal wall panels and associated components (Attachment components, flashing, etc.). Contractor shall supply stamped engineered shop drawings of the insulated panel system and submit to the FAA for approval. Fastener size and pull out test requirements, wind load calcs, hat channel sizes are some of the required design requirements. Color and texture shall match the base building as closely as possible. Contractor shall water test new ATCT insulated metal wall panels and windows for leaks after installation 8.Contractor shall seal the metal panels above and below the cab glass w/ Sika liquid flashing SW per manf. Specs. Color shall be chosen by the local FAA personnel.
