- Description
- SAVER RFI for Radio Frequency (RF) Detection, Spectrum Analysis, and Direction Finding Equipment The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL) is seeking information on commercially available RF detection, spectrum analysis, and direction finding equipment. This technology aligns with items 06CP-07-RFSA and 06CP-07-RFDF on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Authorized Equipment List (AEL). The target audience for this information is first responders who are seeking methods to enhance situational awareness and network security and resilience capabilities. RF Detection and Spectrum Analysis Equipment (06CP-07-RFSA) includes devices that detect, identify, and analyze radio frequency (RF) signals transmitted by various sources. RF Direction Finding Equipment (06CP-07-RFDF) includes devices that measure and triangulate the direction from which an RF signal was transmitted. These types of devices can be used to identify and locate transmissions from suspicious or threatening sources, including RF interference that may be blocking first responder communications or damaging electronic devices. Responses should be limited to products that can be used on an incident scene as opposed to a laboratory environment. This may include mobile/handheld devices, portable/deployable devices, or fixed sensor networks. Respondents should complete a product summary questionnaire for each product. The questionnaire may be obtained, via e-mail, from the technical point of contact, Hasan Shahid, hasan.shahid@associates.hq.dhs.gov. He can also be reached at (212) 206-2766. Any technical questions should be directed to Hasan Shahid. Please do not send any technical questions or responses to this RFI to the Contracting Officer.
