This is a Request for Information (RFI) only; it is not a request for quotations or offers. 52.215-3 -- Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997) (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although proposal and offeror are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This sources sought is issued for the purpose of conducting market research to identify vendors that are capable and qualified to provide delivery of a Ellex, brand-name or equal, 2-in-1 SLT/YAG laser. Prospective vendors must provide an OEM Letter of Supply or Authorized Seller/Distributor Letter. General Equipment Name: Iowa City VAMC SLT/YAG laser, Ellex, brand-name or equal Salient Characteristics: Dual mode laser cavity (SLT and YAG in one machine) Fire rating of 3 shots per second Ability to adjust parameter setting at 0.1 mJ increments Automatic calibration process SLT mode specifications: Laser source: Q-switched, frequency double Nd: YAG Wavelength: Green 532 nm Energy: 0.3 to 2.6 mJ per pulse, continuously variable Pulse duration: 3 ns Burst mode: single pulse only Spot size 400 um Cone angle: < 3 degrees Repetition rate: up to 3 Hz Aiming beam: Red 365 nm, adjustable intensity Magnification: optimized for enhanced anterior segment visualization Cooling: air-cooled YAG mode specifications: Laser source: Q-switched Wavelength: 1064 nm Energy: 0.3 to 10 mJ per pulse, continuously variable Pulse duration: 4 ns Burst mode: 1, 2, and 3 pulses per burst, selectable Spot size: 8 um Cone angle: 16 degrees Posterior offset +/- 100 to 500 um, continuously variable Repetition rate: up to 3 Hz Aiming beam: Red 365 um, adjustable intensity Magnification: optimized for enhanced anterior segment visualization Cooling: air-cooled Required Individual Line Items & Quantity of Items (1 each) SLT/YAG laser machine (1 each) Maintenance Manuals (CD, PDF or Word) (1 each) User Manuals (1 each) Cleaning Instructions for all equipment, supplies and accessories Optional Line Items Warranty Information Manufacturer s or Extended Warranty On-site Training Delivery Requirements: Shipping and delivery will be included in the line items quoted.
