Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Puget Sound Care System, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-5, with their academic affiliate, the University of Washington for high throughput whole human exome and genome sequencing with previously crated gene test panels. The University of Washington UW Nickerson Lab, North West Genomic Center maintains state-of-the-art genetic sequencing equipment and genetic research experts required for a level of research, consulting and laboratory work that is required by VAPSHCS RD. This contract allows the VA to maintain the essential capability to do high throughput whole genome and exome sequencing with research experts performing bioinformatic preparation and consulting on the interpretation and analysis of results that cannot be currently performed by the VA. This is a notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Wednesday, June 20th, 4:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
