- Statement of Objectives-Tracking Mounts NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE 30th Contracting Squadron, Vandenberg AFB, CA intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis with an effective date 01 September 2018 and potentially ending 30 February 2019 to Photo Sonics, Inc. Reference FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commerical Items. Currently, the 30th Space Communications Squadron utilizes Photo-Sonics Sextant Tracking Mounts in support of long range visual analysis of launch vehicle tracking. Two of the tracking mount systems have become unserviceable and require upgrades to the control systems and video technology. Market research has indicated a limited number of manufacturers exist for this technology and given the proprietary nature of the equipment, only the manufacturers have the capability of upgrading and integrating equipment into their platforms. This contract shall support the 30th SCS in upgrading two existing Photo-Sonics Cine-Sextant Mobile Tracking Mounts to the most current configuration. The overall effort will update the camera configuration and integrate and upgrade the tracking mount control systems. The Government will provide camera and video equipment. See Draft Statement of Objectives. Any interested offerors shall submit capability statements no later than 29 June 2018.
