Description

Network Contracting Office 7 intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm-fixed price contract for Project 521-16-103, Replace/Upgrade Electrical Switchgear Phase III located at Birmingham VAMC, 700 South 19th Street, Birmingham, AL 35233. Contractor is to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and supervision to Replace and Upgrade the Birmingham VA Medical Center Electrical Switchgear as per the contract drawings and specifications. The project is needed to replace and upgrade the existing electrical power distribution system throughout the facility. It will include other engineering discipline work as well as indicated in the drawings and specifications. Period of Performance is 545 calendar days from issuance of Notice to Proceed. The solicitation, specifications, and drawings will be available at www.fbo.gov. Amendments to the solicitation will also be posted on this website. All parties must obtain solicitation documents and amendments to the solicitation through FBO. Hard copies will not be mailed. It is the responsibility of all contractors to frequently check the website for all notices, amendments, etc., regarding this solicitation. The Government will not be responsible for any notification not sent or received by the contractor regarding the solicitation. The contract will be awarded in accordance with the procedures specified in the solicitation. The solicitation will be issued as an IFB conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 14 Sealed Bidding Procedures. This project is being solicited as a total set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOSB). The offerors must be listed in the Vendor Information Pages at www.vetbiz.gov at the time bids are received. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this project is 238210, Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors, with a small business size standard of $15.0 million. The magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The formal solicitation is anticipated to be issued on or about July 9, 2018. Telephone calls will not be accepted. THIS IS A PRESOLICITATION NOTICE AND NOT AN INVITATION FOR BID. This notice does not commit the Government to award a contract.
