This project supports the National Park Service plan for Herring Cove that considers potential for future erosion, coastal flooding during storm events, long-term sustainability, restoring natural systems to the greatest extent possible, and retaining recreational experiences Work will include (1) removal of an existing beach-side asphalt paved parking lot approximately 2,400 feet in length, (2) removal of an existing two-lane asphalt paved road approximately 2,400 feet in length, (3) construction of a new relocated asphalt paved parking lot approximately 2,400 feet in length, (4) construction of a new relocated two-lane asphalt paved road approximately 2,400 feet in length, (5) modifications to the existing parking lot access road, (6) construction of a new fee booth, (7) construction of a new vault toilet, and (8) associated regrading and revegetation of the project site.
