Description
This proposed procurement is unrestricted pursuant to Stewardship Authority. The solicitation and any resultant contract is a stewardship project. The objectives of the Mitchell Spring Stewardship project are: • To improve and maintain desirable forested conditions such as growth rates, vigor, stocking, structure, species composition, resilience to agents of disturbance and vertical structure stage classes for northern goshawk habitat. • To reduce the risk of sever fire behavior within the wildland-urban interface that could impact people, property and natural resource values. • To update the Forest's travel management plan to meet the variety of uses occurring within the project area while protecting forest resources. To accomplish these objectives, the contract will include stand thinning, timber removal and road maintenance. Any resultant contract will be a commercial services contract with requirements for timber removal. The successful contractor shall furnish the necessary personnel, material, equipment, services and facilities to complete the project to the Statement of Work/Specifications. The solicitation and appendices will be available on approximately July 9, 2018 and may be downloaded from this site at that time. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Vendors are required to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). All responsible sources may submit a response to this announcement which will be considered by this agency. All questions regarding the solicitation, both during pre-solicitation period and after the posting of the solicitation must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer, Kellie Shaw (kjshaw@fs.fed.us) and reference the solicitation number and title "Mitchell Spring Stewardship." The Contracting Officer will route the question to the appropriate subject matter expert for clarification or answer. If the answer to a question comes from a source other than the solicitation itself, and if the clarification or answer is something which needs to be known by all offerors, the Contracting Officer will collect answers for publication in a solicitation amendment.
