- Description
- Industry/Collaboration Day Announcement for NAVAL Access to Spectrum & Bi-Directional Sharing This is not a notice for solicitation, Request for Proposal or Whitepaper but for planning purposes only. This Special Notice is to advise interested members of the National Spectrum Consortium (NSC), as well as interested parties within the U.S. technology base that the Department of Defense (DoD) anticipates issuing a Task Request for a call for the submission of Technical Concepts to enable bi-directional shared access to spectrum between the US Navy and commercial users. In addition, in an effort to further describe the DoD's needs with regard to this Technology Gap, the DoD will be hosting a Collaboration Day with the National Spectrum Consortium (NSC) and Industry on 16-17 July, 2018. The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity to engage in detailed information exchange and dialog between DoD and technology subject matter experts. Discussions will expand upon DoD's naval operational challenges and foster collaboration between DoD and NSC to: • ensure an in-depth understanding of naval operational access to spectrum needs and challenges • accord potential offerors the opportunity to address in detail operational, technical, and programmatic issues, considerations, etc. associated with developing, integrating, testing, and deploying solutions that enable bi-directional spectrum sharing • participate in none-on-one discussions between DoD personnel and Consortium members and teams July 16th is open to members and non-members alike while being held at the Crystal City Marriott in Arlington, VA. July 17th will be held at the ANSER Conference Center in Fall Church, VA and is a classified (SECRET) event open to NSC Members only. Draft agenda details and registration information can be found here https://events.bizzabo.com/NSC_Navy_Collaboration_Event. The MLB All-Star Events are being hosted in D.C. the same week so we recommend booking travel arrangements as soon as possible. The Task Request call for technical concepts contains specific details on the NAVAL Access to Spectrum & Bi-Directional Sharing is available to NSC Membership on the NSC Member's Only website. All questions and requests for copies of the Technical Concept Call by non-members should be directed to the National Spectrum Consortium at spectrum.consortium@ati.org.
