Description

Notice of Intent Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract to Harris Corporation, Tactical Communications of Rochester, NY [CAGE code here] for High Frequency Radio (HFR) II Systems. The Government intends to procure this agency requirement under the statutory authority permitting Other than Full and Open Competition 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Harris Corporation will provide HFR radio systems and ancillaries, along with updating the current inventory of HF Radio systems and ancillaries, for ground radios and combat platforms within the Marine Corps. Currently, Harris Corporation is the only HF radio manufacturer in the marketplace that has a National Security Agency (NSA) certified Type 1 encryption radio, which is a Marine Corps requirement.
