- Description
- This is a special notice to announce a Technical Interchange for an upcoming requirement through the Sensors Communications Electronics Consortium (SCEC). The upcoming requirement is for the development of low light level and thermal sensors. This effort is to develop sensor module interfaces to define a common mechanical size envelope and mounting interface, and sensor data and control interfaces. The goal is to leverage members of the SCEC that are thermal and low light level sensor vendors/developers to rapidly finalize an Interface Control Document (ICD) that forms a basis for current and future sensor module development efforts. In addition to the ICD, the vendors/developers will each produce up to 850 thermal and 2,800 low light level ICD compliant sensor module prototypes for evaluation, test, and integration in prototype sensor systems. The Technical Interchange will take place at the Officers' Club on Ft Belvoir, VA on 26 June 2018 from 0930 to 1600. The Technical Interchange is open to interested firms. The purpose of the Technical Interchange is to provide an opportunity for companies to ask questions in an open forum and one-on-one sessions. Optional one-on-one sessions will be available to SCEC members and SCEC membership applicants only; requests must be submitted to, and coordinated with, SCEC. One-on-One sessions will be a maximum of 30 minutes and may consist of a presentation by the requesting organization to include company background (20 minute maximum) and ideas/questions/concerns meeting the sensors requirements (10 minute maximum). All presentation materials, to include a description of the discussion topics, must be provided via email to SCEC NLT 3pm EDT 25 June 2018. An opportunity to submit written questions will be provided during Industry Day. This announcement should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award on the basis of this Industry Day. This request is issued according to the authority provided under 10 U.S.C. 2371b, Other Transaction Authority for Prototypes.
