Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7 located in Charleston, SC intends to issue a sole source firm fixed priced contract to Joerns Healthcare LLC, 19748 Dearborn Street, Chatsworth, CA 91311. Joerns Healthcare LLC will provide mattress rental services in support of wound care preventative measures for the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Joerns Healthcare LLC submits that it is the only one responsible source for the rental services required by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Joerns is the sole patent holder and sole provider of the technologies used in its Dolphin Fluid Immersion Simulation (FIS) products. Further, Joerns does not provide rental services of the Dolphin FIS products through any other entities. In order to protect the proprietary technology used in the products, Joerns does not share information with any outside firms. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b) (2), soliciting from a single source. The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 532283 Home Health Equipment Rental with a Small Business Size Standard of $32.5 Million. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 3:00 P.M. EST, June 25, 2018 to: steven.bentley@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate.
