- Sole Source JA NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: M67004-18-Q-1043 The U.S.Marine Corps, Blount Island Command (BICmd), Contracting Office, Marine Corps Station (BICmd), Jacksonville, FL 32226 hereby gives notice of intent to award firm fixed price on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b) (i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The USMC Blount Island Command, (BIC) Jacksonville FL 32226 has submitted a requirement that will provide Patriot Cage Covers, to the U.S.Marine Corps, Blount Island Command (BICmd), for Patriot Cage Covers. The command currently possesses approximately 1,500 Patriot Cages, and the required covers are a custom built accessory of the cages, allowing access to unique hoisting and tie-down provisions, facilitating unique stacking of the Patriot Cages, and enabling access to cage contents while stored and/or stacked. The (200) cage covers are critically required for real-world T-AKE throughput operations, protecting and securing Maritime Prepositioned Equipment/Supplies (MPE/S) stored within the cages. Market research has determined that Grate Pallet Solutions LLC, is the only source capable of providing the requirements. An approved J&A is on file and posted with this special notice. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within ten (10) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
