Description

This Justification and Approval (J&A) is being posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) awarded a sole source, follow-on, Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) contract to Southern Research Institute (SR) in support of thermos-mechanical and ground testing of reentry materials, and fabrication of flight hardware for the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) reentry systems work for the NSWCDD'S Reentry Systems Office. This effort provides replacement or alternate materials for advanced reentry applications for the US and the UK. This requirement was solicited in accordance with the authority of 10 U.S. C 2304 (c) (1) and FAR Part 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), "Only One Responsible Source". This notice serves to provide the redacted J&A associated with the award of Contract No. N0017818C4004 per FAR 6.305.
