Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst has a requirement for Pitot, Static Probe Inspection Tools, Part Number (P/N) 0885N, National Stock Number (NSN): 4920-01-590-3737 in support of the P-8A aircraft. The Government intends to issue a contract on a limited competitive basis for this requirement to Rosemont Aerospace Inc. the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) (14300 Judicial Road, Burnsville, MN 55306-4898) and their authorized vendor GMS International Corporation (1984 Isaac Newton Square West, Suite 104, Reston VA 20190. The resultant contract is anticipated to be a Fixed-Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type contract. The support equipment was designed by Rosemont Aerospace and tested by Boeing to meet specifications to enable inspection of the pitot static probe tips for damage aboard the P-8A. The P-8's pitot-static probes were also manufactured by the OEM based on specific proprietary requirements that the Navy does not have access to. OEM's test set will only perform the proper form, fit, and function it is meant for if it works in conjunction with their own tubes. The current requirement is for quantity of seven (7) with a maximum quantity of twenty-six (26) over the next five years. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to full and open competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a full and open competitive procurement.
