Description
This control rod assembly is a compression spring device that exerts a force against the rotational flipper door. A means is required to install or remove the flipper door control rod assembly at the organizational and depot levels of maintenance. The means must be capable of compressing the control rod spring to allow installing/removing the rod assembly when the slat is in the extended (down) position. The rod assembly maximum installation spring force is 40 pounds. The means must be portable and allow one person to install/remove the flipper door control rod assembly to/from the c-17a wing. The spring is approx. 1 1/8" diameter x 17" long. The rod is approx. 0.5" diameter on one end and 0.75" diameter on the other end. This requirement is for a firm-fixed price contract with 3-1 year options for noun: Compressor, Spring, Rod Assembly, NSN 5120012712826BA ; Part Number 17G110087-1. The basic is for qty of 2 each (includes first article), test plan (1 lo), and test report (1 lo). The 3-1 year options are based on qty range of 1-2 each. This requirement will be a set-aside for small business. Offerors shall prepare their proposals in accordance with mandatory, explicit and detailed instructions contained in the RFQ. All responsible small business sources may submit a proposal to be considered by the contracting agency. The government will utilize the past performance information retrieval system (PPIRs), excluded parties list system (EPLS), and other government databases to determine contractor status before evaluating proposals. Proposal will be evaluated based on criteria stated in the RFQ. The anticipated release of the RFQ on or around 7 July 2018 with an estimated response date of 7 Aug 2018.
