THIS ANNOUNCMENT SUPERCEDES THE PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENT SOLICITATION NUMBER 36C10F18Q0553. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY.   THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.  The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM), Eastern Regional Office, Silver Spring, MD is issuing this special notice is for planning and informational purposes only and SHALL NOT be considered as an Invitation for Bid, Request for Quotation, or Request for Proposal. There is no obligation on the part of the Government to, and will not, pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis.   Your responses to this sources sought will be treated as information ONLY. The results of the market research will be used to determine the best overall acquisition strategy.   The Government is seeking responses to this Sources Sought synopsis from all interested businesses to determine potential bondable and experienced businesses in all socioeconomic categories including, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Businesses (VOSB), 8(a) contractors, HUBZone Small Businesses, Women-Owned Small businesses (WOSB), and Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB), with regard to an upcoming construction requirement to improve a pedestrian sky-bridge slope at the VAMC in San Juan, PR. 1. The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary  to perform the work that will include re-sloping the ramp to provide six-foot landings at less than 30 on center. A handrail will be added to one side of the sky-bridge assist infirm walking individuals. The existing benches will be reinstalled after the floor work is complete. Floor and wall finishes shall be specified to match the original finishes used in the sky bridge. 2. The estimated cost for this project is between $25,000.00 and $162,000.00. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 236220. All interested businesses are encouraged to submit their capabilities statements. CFM is seeking responses from all socioeconomic categories. At this time, no solicitation exists; therefore, please do not request a solicitation. Large and Small Business Contractors and vendors having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought. Responses should include the following information: (1) Company name, address, point of contact with phone number and e-mail address; (2) Business size determination and qualifying small business status; (3) Bonding capacity (from surety) for a single project and aggregate; and (4) Construction experience of similar projects in size, scope, complexity and dollar value. This sources sought notice is for market research purposes in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. It does not constitute a solicitation and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request that will be considered for contract award. All interested parties will be required to respond to the solicitation separately from their response to this sources sought. Please submit capability packages via email to: katie.washington@va.gov and derek.underwood2@va.gov no later than 4:00 pm EST on July 18, 2018 and in the subject line state VAMC San Juan Sky-Bridge Correction and [Company Name]. CFM anticipates the solicitation will be issued in late September 2018 and will be posted only on the Federal Business Opportunities website (https://www.fbo.gov). At this time no solicitation exists, therefore, DO NOT REQUEST A SOLICITATION package.
