- IMPLANTABLE RADIO TRANSMITTERS: The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing 33 Gm Implantable Transmitter with Data for Transmitter and Mortality Ground Check Function as described in the attached Salient Characteristics. This sources sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 334220, Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing and associated size standard 1,250 Employees applies to this announcement. All responsible sources may submit a brochure and/or technical specifications detailing the ability of their product to meet the salient characteristics included with this announcement. Mass: <= 38 g Non- ¬toxic, non-reactive resin coating on body Antenna: Stainless steel; 7.5 -8.5 cm for percutaneous implant Positioning system: ARGOS Communications: ARGOS Battery life: Not less than 750 operational hours. Interface: Device must be capable of collecting location data at frequencies ranging from 5 minutes to 24 hours. Mortality Check: have way to determine mortality via ground tracking capabilities. Estimated operating life of each unit is 750 hours for complete data collection. Device must be capable of collecting location data at frequencies ranging from 5 minutes to 24 hours. Transmitters must function for a duration of at least one year once implanted in the coelomic cavity of migratory waterfowl.
