- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to provide removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the basins and channels since they were last dredged. Dredging of the channels and basins shall be performed by mechanical dredge (clamshell, dragline or dipper). The dredging depth is 38 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth for the Approach Channel South Entrance, South Wharf Turning Basin, and the Center Wharf Turning Basin. The dredging depth is 34 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth for the North Wharf Turning Basin. Disposal of dredged material shall be in the Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS). There is no environmental window for the dredging of the basins and channels by mechanical dredge or transport to and disposal in the ODMDS. The total quantity of material to be dredged, including allowable overdepth, is estimated to be 830,000 cubic yards. This solicitation is un-restricted. The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.00. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available on or about July 25, 2018. The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, facsimiles, etc) will be provided. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 - Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction and the size standard is $27,500,000.00. Bidders must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to be eligible to receive an award from any Government solicitation.
