Description

The VA Long Beach Healthcare System, 5901 E. 7th Street., Long Beach, CA 90822, has a requirement to renovate the hospital room service kitchen in the basement of building 126. A Firm-Fixed Price award is anticipated. The contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools and equipment necessary for the construction project 600-17-102, Renovate Hospital Room Service Kitchen at Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center, 5901 E,7th Street, Long Beach, CA, 90822, in accordance with items specified herein. The location of the existing kitchen is in the basement of Building 126 and has an area of approximately 17,000 sq. ft. About twenty (20) years ago, it used to be a functional kitchen. The existing systems and kitchen equipment are in the poor condition, very old, or many have been removed. Currently, the kitchen is used as a warm up place for food bought from VA West Los Angeles. This project will reactivate the kitchen so that it is fully functional for the next approximately 25 years. Prior to bidding the project, contractor shall refer to the contract documents including drawings and specifications, visit the job site, and familiarize with the site existing conditions and constraints. Project will be constructed in 3 phases. Temporary System provisions will be made to keep areas operational during construction of other phases. Any questions will be directed in writing through the VA Long Beach Engineering for review and response. The contractor shall install equipment and systems in accordance with the drawings and specifications provided. The magnitude of this VA construction project is estimated to be between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The Period of Performance for this project will be 365 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Veterans First Public Law 109-461 as a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. The NAICS code for this project is 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, and the small business size standard is $36.5 Million. Interested bidders must be listed in the VetBiz.gov Vendor Information Pages at www.vetbiz.gov, and currently registered in the System for Award Management, www.sam.gov. Solicitation documents, including technical specifications and project drawings, will be available electronically on or about July 20, 2018 at www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested bidders should search for solicitation 36C25818R0341 to access solicitation documents and any amendments. A Ninety day bid acceptance period will be required. Bid Bond will be required. Only Hardcopy bids will be accepted. A Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit will be held, date/time/location to be provided in the solicitation.
