Description
Notice of Intent to Issue a Sole Source purchase order for Chemical Fume Hood Monitors The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to issue a sole-source purchase order to Gaghan Mechanical, Inc., located at 5649D General Washington Drive, Alexandria, VA 22312. The anticipated purchase order is for chemical fume hood monitors. The chemical fume hood monitors are a vital component in keeping researchers safe during biomedical research. Chemical Fume Hood Monitors work to pull harmful or dangerous chemical fumes and vapors away from the researcher and out of the laboratory space. Airflow through these chemical fume hood monitors is very important to the operation of the hood and improper airflow rates could lead to chemical exposures to the researcher. Each chemical fume hood monitors are equipped with a flow alarm to alert the user if the airflow reaches an unsafe level. Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements using Simplified Acquisition Procedures per FAR Part 13.5. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement within seven (7) days after the publication of this synopsis, which will be considered by the agency. Responses received after seven (7) days or without the required information may not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete thus, of information received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
