Description: RFQ Attachment 1 (i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 using the format found at FAR Subpart 12.6 - Streamlined Procedures for evaluation and solicitation for commercial items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Heimann 6040I x-ray inspection system The Hi-Scan 6040i is a compact x-ray security screening system with tunnel dimensions of 620mm (24") W x 418mm (16.5") H. This tunnel size is ideally suitable for cabin baggage and other small items in areas with increasing security demands. For our purposes, this machine will be utilized at the gates to inspect items that will be hand carried onto the aircraft. Machine will aid inspectors and ensure the performance of their duties - confiscation of prohibited fruits, vegetables, flowers and soil. This system has been found to be the best machine to provide this service and has proven itself by consistently processing passengers in a timely and consistent manner. Technicians are located on the island of Oahu and upon request will travel and service and/or repair machines as needed. A maintenance contract will be in place after the first year which the machine is under warranty. (Feb 1998) (xiii) Warranty Implied Warranty - The Government's post award rights contained in 52.212-4 are the implied warranty of merchantability, the implied warranty of fitness for particular purpose and the remedies contained in the acceptance paragraph. Additional Warranty - : Explain all details of the warranty. If an extended warranty is available explain details of extended warranty including price and availability after initial warranty expires. The Quoter shall extend to the Government the full coverage of any standard commercial warranty normally Quoted in a similar commercial sale, provided such warranty is available at no additional cost to the Government. Acceptance of the standard commercial warranty does not waive the Government's rights under the Inspection clause nor does it limit the Government's right with regard to the other terms and conditions of this contract. In the event of a conflict, the terms and conditions of the contract shall take precedence over the standard commercial warranty. The contractor shall provide a copy of its standard commercial warranty (if applicable) with this response. (xiv) This requirement has no DPAS rating. Defense Priorities and Allocation System (DFAS) does not apply as this acquisition is not in support of an approved national defense, emergency preparedness, or energy program.
